Smile for Kartell | 2017
Designed by Fabio Novembre, Smile, is the re-interpretation of Anna Castelli Ferrieri’s iconic piece of furniture, where the classic round hole of the Componibili transforms into a wink, a result of the emoji times. A classic designer piece acquires a playful and new interpretation.
“She called it “Componibile”, true to its austere character. It has become an icon that today is 50 years old and that was even celebrated with a Google doodle. I must admit that this round hole has always seemed a wink to those who can understand the irony of Anna. Having been lucky enough to know her personally, I like to reply to her with a big smile.
